From Barrett: "Barrett 30 round 6.8 magazine bodies, followers, floor plates and retainers are constructed of high carbon steel and are heat treated with a proprietary process that ensures durability and an extended service life.

Anti-tilt follower glides through magazine body providing perfect control of round stack for positive feeding. All components of the Barrett magazine are machine tumbled to remove burrs and create smooth edges that promote reliable operation and snag free handling. Feed lip geometry is engineered for maximum reliability and smooth feeding characteristics, using a direct path to the breech that eliminates resistance.

Magazine body and follower are coated with heat cured epoxy impregnated with molybdenum and titanium. This special coating aids in lubricity and creates an impenetrable corrosion resistant barrier. The magazine body is the correct length to accommodate 30 rounds of 6.8 SPC ammunition without undue stress on the magazine spring. Fully loaded, the magazine will seat effortlessly with 30 rounds on closed bolt. Chrome silicon magazine spring resists fatigue over repeated duty cycles. Magazine body halves are joined by uniform spot welds."
